Centers

This month we have been studying verbs and argument/opinion writing. Now, we are getting ready to introduce informational writing. To practice these concepts, students participated in some fun activities. They read and researched their choice of animals while completing a "3-2-1" graphic organizer (3 things they learned, 2 interesting facts, and 1 question they have). Simultaneously, a group met with the teacher to play action verb Scattegories (students are given a letter and 3 minutes to list as many axion verbs as possible). 

Miami Field Trip

Our third graders had a great field trip to Miami University. We disected plants, examined plants under microscopes, and explored the conservatory.

 

 

Area and Perimeter

We have been learning about area and perimeter in math this week.  We found the area and perimeter of tiled parts of Ridgeway.  Everyone had fun exploring these concepts around our school.

Mealworm Life Cycle

Our third grade have been very interested in exploring the life cycle of a mealworm. We have seen larva, pupas, and are waiting to see the adult stage.

COSI on Wheels

Thank you PTO!! We had such a great time learning about the human machine at COSI on Wheels. 

Field Trip Fun

Mrs. Horras and Mrs. Sandlin's homerooms traveled to Miami Hamilton to study plants. We had a great time!!

Book Project Workshops

The students have been busy working on their projects. All classes have been given three workshop days in class to get some of their projects completed. Can't wait to see the finished products!
