Writing Sprints

 Students got into their writing notebooks by completing two writing sprints. These are quick writing segments on a certain topic. Students can always go back to these topics when they wish to write more.

Graffiti Writing

The students wrote on "graffiti" boards answering four questions. We had a class discussion and some writing time to respond to these questions.

Describing Characters and Making Connections

Our students participated in a fun "carousel graffiti" activity today. Students walked around and wrote their answers down and then we had a whole group discussion about their responses. Students also practiced supporting their answers with evidence from the text. They did a fabulous job!!

Decorating Writers' Notebooks

Our third grade students were so excited to personalize their own notebooks today. They were encouraged to bring in memorabilia, stickers, photos and other personal items to make their notebooks reflect their personalities.
