Veterans Day Assembly

Close Reading

Students are learning all about folktales. To encourage speaking and listening skills, students worked in small groups where they each read their own individual passage. Once they finished, they discussed the similarities and differences in their stories and talked about how the themes overlapped.

Dictionaries!

The Rotary Club of Hamilton generously donated dictionaries to all of our third graders again this year. The students loved receiving the dictionaries and have been using them almost daily.

Ridgeway Elementary is the 150th Wild School Site

Today our school was recognized as a wild school site by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Through the help and work done by the Ridgeway Green Team, they have created nature trails and outdoor classrooms in addition to help preserving the wildlife on our school property.

Halloween Fun

Students learned about cinquain poetry and wrote their own Halloween themed cinquain poems. Then they typed their poems on chrome books.

Veterans Day Activities

Our students began talking about Veterans Day last week. We reviewed what they knew, what they wanted to discover, and recorded what they learned after our lesson.

Then students wrote about veterans in their writers notebooks.
