Mystery Readers
Recently, we have had two more mystery readers drop by. We were lucky enough to be joined by a nurse and a local pastor. The kids loved listening to their stories, learning how reading is important to their jobs, and (of course) asking questions.
Heartfelt Adjectives
To extend our learning of adjectives, we decided to apply what we've learned. Each student had their name written on a paper that was laid our around the room. Then, one by one, the students scooted around and wrote a positive adjective to describe each classmate. They did an outstanding job!
Fill That Bus!
During the week if Febraury 10-14, students participated in Spirit Week for donating canned goods to the Fill that Bus initiative. At the end of the week, our school had a bus load of food that was taken to a local food pantry. Here are some photos of "Twin Day" and "Crazy Hair Day."

5 Finger Speeches
The students wrote about whether they liked when their birthdays were. They had to provide reasons to support their opinions. We then turned these into 5 finger speeches.

Adjective/Article scoot
This week we are talking about articles in grammar....you know, those 3 little words: "a, an, the." It might not seem like the most exciting topic, so we challenged the students to complete 22 task cards by moving around the room when they heard the music play. They really enjoyed themselves (and so did their teachers:)

Valentine Heart Graphing
Our third graders loved doing Valentine heart graphing activities! Students made
tally charts, bar graphs, and pictographs on paper and then created graphs on chrome books that were emailed to their teachers.
